I’m really excited to host adventure racer and author Moire O’Sullivan. She is on a blog tour to celebrate the release of her new book Bump, Bike & Baby – Mummy’s Gone Adventure Racing. I’ve been lucky enough to sneak an early copy to bring you this review.
I’m really enjoying my blog this year, I hope you are too. I was planning ahead with a post featuring my book Sorted: The Active Woman’s Guide to Health published by Bloomsbury to tie in with Mother’s Day. Then it occurred to me that maybe you would like to win a copy to give to the mother in your life. Or maybe you are a mother, mother to be, or not a mother at all and want a little present for yourself!
I have big plans for my blog for 2018. I enjoy creating and writing posts and I want to use this amazing opportunity to help keep us all motivated to move. Whether it be an educational post, an interview with an inspiring person, a kit review or a personal anecdote, it’s wonderful to see the power of the written word. Comments and feedback, here on the blog or on social media, re-inforce to me that I should keep going – even when it’s hard to cram in the hours it takes to keep a blog running!
Author Jenny Baker kindly sent me a copy of her book Run For Your Life – how one woman ran circles around breast cancer. I was really keen to read this, not only to hear her story but also to help with my conversations with patients who have cancer.
I can’t believe it’s been eight months since my first book Sorted; The Active Woman’s Guide to Health was published. I put my heart and soul and a large chunk of my life into writing it.
At last, book publication day is here! My book, ‘Sorted: The Active Woman’s Guide to Health’ is on the shelves. I can’t quite believe it. Writing a book is a very long process and it’s actually over two years since I pitched my idea to Bloomsbury and they gave me the green light to go ahead and write this for them. That two years has gone painstakingly slowly at times and whizzed by in a flash at others.
Let me introduce the SlimClip iPhone case. I’m sure many of you will identify with the problems I was having. I needed to find the best iPhone case for running.
This isn’t a sponsored post. Bloggers are generally very open and transparent about how they’ve come by the products they’re reviewing. (look out for #sponsored or the more subtle #sp) It takes some guts though, to be totally objective about a product if you’ve been gifted it. We’ve all been brought up to perform the routine, “Thanks very much Aunty Dot, I love this jumper” whilst smiling and wondering when the next charity shop collection is. Sometimes I just want to tell you about a product that I’ve bought, simply because I like it and I think you might too. I did this with my running dress from NuuMuu and now its the turn of a real gem of a find; my ZAAZEE sports bra.
So, the lovely people at Brantano footwear asked me to review a pair of Skechers kid’s trainers for them. Only problem was there was someone in my house who felt he could do a much better job than me! I think Thomas was right, do you? These super cool trainers are available to buy from Brantano div align=”center”>
I’m busy, busy, busy at the moment and I don’t have time to go for a run AND take the dog for a walk so I’m combining the two and dog-running. I don’t really like to take my dog Honey too far on the road as I worry about her paws getting sore. She also pulls on the lead, unpredictably veers off into on-coming traffic and randomly stops for a sniff or a wee sending me head over heels on top of her. It’s far more enjoyable (and less stressful) for both if us if she’s off the lead, running and stopping as she pleases. This leaves me free to enjoy the views and be my own pacer!
