It’s that time of year when I look back on a year of blogging and see what you’ve all been reading. I’m really proud that this is my tenth year of blogging and I’ve had the biggest year ever! I set myself a lofty target and I reached it at the start of December – hurray!

As usual, most people come to my site through search engines. Facebook is the next biggest feeder followed by Instagram. I know that my success therefore depends largely on SEO and this is something that I’m aware I need to learn more about in order to get more traffic next year.

Here are the top ten most popular running posts on my site this year:

  1. Why do I feel cold after I run?
  1. Why am I running so slowly?
  1. Spitting and Running
  1. How Soon Can I Run Again After a Marathon?
  1. The Toxic Ten: What it is and how to get past it
  1. Why is my face so red when I run?
  1. Running after Reaching 5K, what’s next?
  1. How to Return to Exercise After the Flu
  1. Why do I feel faint after a run?
  1. Does running cause cystitis?

I don’t think these posts need much by way of explanation except for maybe ‘Spitting and Running’. In this post I’m explaining what happens to your spit when you exercise and why that makes some people feel unable to swallow it.

I hope that my blogs have helped to fill a few gaps in knowledge, offer tips and answer questions. I hope too that you’ve enjoyed reading them and will visit again in 2025. Wishing you a Merry Christmas.

Next week I’ll share my most read menopause blogs of 2024.

If you’ve enjoyed these running blogs you’ll love my book Run Well: Essential health questions and answers for runners. It answers these questions and many hundreds more. It’s published by Bloomsbury and available everywhere you buy books.
